Simcenter SimSolid
Platform for mesh-less structural analysis on complex CAD assemblies.
SimSolid sets itself aside from other more traditional FEM tools because it doesn’t require mesh generation or CAD model simplification – and still generates results in just a few minutes.
Ideal for designers, SimSolid allows you to quickly simulate design variants, even on imperfect geometries, reducing time and costs involved in product development. Also available in a cloud version.
Why SimSolid?
- Eliminates CAD geometry preparation work and does not require meshing
- Works with complex assemblies
- Performs accurate FEM simulations, from 25 to 100 times faster than other tools.
Less preparation, more analysis
Eliminates the need to simplify geometry and generate meshes. SimSolid removes two of the most time-consuming and error-prone steps in traditional structural analysis. The CAD model is used directly as the simulation model, without the need to create a separate finite element model.
Results in seconds or minutes
SimSolid provides accurate structural analysis results in seconds or minutes on a standard PC. It allows you to quickly compare multiple design scenarios, improving the speed, accuracy, and ease of use of design-driven simulation across a wide range of industries.
Analyze large and complex assemblies
Designed for speed and scalability, SimSolid handles complex parts and large assemblies with exceptional efficiency, including irregular contact surfaces, clearances, or overlapping geometries.

Key Technical Features
Complete range of analyses
It performs linear and nonlinear static analysis, thermal analysis, modal analysis, fatigue analysis, and stress linearization. It also supports dynamic simulations, including time-domain and frequency-domain analysis, global-local analysis, buckling, composite materials, squeak and rattle, thermal stresses, and random response, enabling rapid and comprehensive structural evaluation.
Immediate classification of parts
Imports CAD models, automatically classify parts by type, and start analysis without manual cleanup. This simplifies workflows and significantly reduces the time spent preparing data.
Extensive library of connections and materials
It supports bonded, sliding, and separable contacts with friction, as well as bolts, virtual connectors, welds, rivets, adhesives, joints, and bushings. SimSolid also handles a wide range of materials, including isotropic, orthotropic, elastoplastic, rigid materials, and gaseous and liquid bodies.
Wide variety of counter conditions
Simulate the interaction of the design with the surrounding environment, including: fixed, sliding, and hinged constraints, forces, pressures, gravity, thermal and inertial loads, inertia relief, bolt and nut tightening, hydrostatic loads, bearing loads, volumetric expansion and contraction, distributed and remote masses, and remote loads.
Open and compatible with all major CAD systems
Output data and display
View different types of results using contour maps, animations, XY graphs, probes, and detailed data on stresses, strains, displacements, safety factors, modal frequencies, modal shapes, and participation factors. Results can be viewed on reference planes or cut sections, with support for overlapping and enveloping multiple load cases.
