Modern Testing for Digital Engineering
Lessons from SLF’s Extreme Applications
Faster, earlier, and more trusted testing with SCADAS + Simcenter Testlab.
Description
Sure, engineering is going digital —but this doesn’t mean physical testing will disappear. On the contrary, only testing can definitively confirm real-world behavior: tolerances, environmental effects, integration issues, and the “unknown unknowns”.
Join BSIM Application Engineer Marco Brino and SLF (WSL) guest speaker Jens Kaufmann to see how a structured, end-to-end workflow – enabled by Siemens SCADAS and Simcenter Testlab – improves synchronization, traceability and repeatability for testing teams.
See an “extreme case” in action: full-scale avalanche data acquisition, and why the same principles transfer directly to everyday industrial testing.
Why Join
Learn about:
-
Where time and risk typically hide: setup, repeatability, data integrity
-
How to build data trust with synchronization, traceability, and reliable acquisition
-
How to standardize and accelerate analysis & reporting with reusable methods and automation
-
How an end-to-end workflow supports shift-left testing – from late validation to earlier engineering decisions
About SLF
SLF is part of the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (WSL), a globally recognized research institute specializing in natural hazards, mountain ecosystems, and snow and ice.
One of SLF’s core competencies is the study of avalanche formation and motion in terrain. SLF uses multiple Siemens SCADAS units to monitor, measure, and centrally store diverse sensor data during naturally induced, full-scale avalanches.
