Simcenter FLOEFD’s CAD embedded and automatic meshing approach, has  really revolutionized how CFD is used in companies, making it more accessible to  broader range of users and employed from earlier on in the development of a new design.

SmartCells™ Technology

SmartCells are unique technology that combine robust Cartesian meshing with highly efficient analytical or semi-empirical solver models; thus providing high levels of simulation accuracy with fewer number of mesh cells than in traditional CFD and reduces the user’s role in mesh generation.

CAD Embedded

CAD-embedded simulation enables engineers to conduct analysis in the same user environment as design. Therefore, engineers can use the latest CAD geometry for analysis to conduct multiple design studies and evaluate how the modifications influence the performance of the design without the hassle of data translation.

Parametric Study

The compare configuration and parametric study capability inside Simcenter FLOEFD enables engineers to understand the influence of changes in the geometry or boundary conditions on the results. Users can evaluate the design envelope by assessing results by numerical values, by graphs and by visual images and animations and thereby compare a wide range of project permutations.

Depending on the product you’re developping, your simulation objectives and needs vary. Simcenter FLOEFD Advanced Module

Some simulation tasks require special capabilities and physics in order to deliver accurate results. The Advanced Module provides capabilities to consider hypersonic flow for up to Mach 30 and combustion.

Simcenter FLOEFD HVAC Module

Comfort and safety is an important consideration when designing occupied spaces such as buildings and transportation vehicles such as cars and aircrafts. Special simulation capabilities such as comfort parameters and tracer studies for contaminant distribution simulations help to optimize environment systems. An extended database on building materials and a radiation model that allows improved solar radiation simulation is provided with the HVAC Module.

Simcenter FLOEFD Cooling Electronics Module

The Electronics Cooling Module contains several features that make thermal management simulations of electronic systems more accurate. Besides extended databases of fan curves and packaging material or 2-Resistor components, it also contains specialized features and physics such as a PCB model and joule heating due to current flow. The Electronics Cooling Module is ideal for more detailed simulations of electronics systems.

Simcenter FLOEFD Led Module

In order to obtain accurate results in lighting applications, special physics need to be considered. The LED Module is not only suitable for LED lighting applications but also for any other lighting applications. It contains the necessary radiation models such as Discrete Ordinate and Monte Carlo and provides capabilities to absorb radiation in transparent materials and considers refraction such as in lenses. The LED Module is the ideal module for the lighting industry and especially for LEDs, it includes a new unique LED model that provides the junction temperature and hot lumen.
