SOLUTIONS
The technologies and skills offered by BSim to off-road industry’s companies cover the following areas:
Consumption and Emissions Analysis
Quickly build virtual prototypes of different design layouts of the propulsion system
Compare the dynamic performance of each design, on the same mission profile, by extrapolating emissions and fuel consumption trends.
Identify the best trade-off between performance and efficiency.
3D Fluid Dynamics Simulation
Analyze the fluid-dynamic and thermal behavior of the product, directly from the CAD and with the automatic meshing system proposed by Simcenter FLOEFD.
Study fluid mechanics through its main variables: pressure, temperature, density, speed, viscosity.
1D Fluid Dynamics of Hydraulic Networks
Study the motion of compressible fluids in hydraulic and pneumatic ducts, and the influence of temperature on movement.
Evaluate the impact of the plant’s operating conditions and simulate emergency cases.
The calculation is made on the single dimension of fluid movement, with a much shorter calculation time than classic CFD-3D
Power Management and Electrification
Virtually model and simulate new hybrid propulsion architectures, by evaluating the performance of different configurations in series or parallel:
- identify the system energy demand in relation to the desired performance;
- simulate performance during operation, identify optimal control in order to maximize efficiency and by reducing fuel consumption;
- study energy absorption of all the ship’s systems, in order to prevent possible dissipations and the impact on global fuel consumption.
